As history recorded it, it was done under Pres. Nixon of GOP. Now I cannot claim that things looked clear back then, but probably Mr. Bernanke would face less challenge and even manage to do his job properly with at least one properly regulated market. These might be just the ramblings of an old man, but I don't remember another time where bank clerks from the Street owned so many house in Spain as today.
